Telephone Cloud Service (TCS)
TTC’s Telephone Cloud Service (TCS) is a next generation Unified Communications (UC) proposition for UK businesses that uses hosted Voice over IP (VoIP) technology. It provides all the functionality of a traditional telephone system plus more advanced functionality made possible through our central cloud service, which includes video calling and mobile extension services. Users are able to choose Cisco, Polycom or other suppliers of telephones which seamlessly integrate across multiple offices
Business end users that don’t have an onsite telephone system (PBX) can use our TCS, or can utilise their existing onsite PBX and integrate using our SIP Trunking UC (SIP Trunking) offer.
TCS is a Unified Communications product but it is worth understanding what this means as it can mean different things to different people. Fundamentally, UC is about integrating many different communications services together (eg. voice, presence, messaging, video, etc.), usually under one common service offering.
The use of UC is designed to optimise business practices and make communication easier for users to navigate. The diagram below is an example of the components of a typical TCS offering, utilising either Hosted or SIP Trunking as the primary telephony means. These services attach themselves to the UC environment to form the overall UC offering.
